The Monitor

When the going gets tough, the tough get to clipping.

That's the message of the Coupon Queen (a.k.a. Jill Cataldo), whose mission is to show people how a pair of scissors and some patience are two of the best weapons they have against overspending. (Click here to check out the Coupon Queen's article)

Cataldo's novel methods of saving money caught the attention of the Chicago Sun-Times in 2008. Since then, the Coupon Queen's weekly columns have become a lifeline for families across the country who are struggling to make ends meet - as well as those who just want to make every dollar count.

As our nation lingers in the midst of an economic crisis, The Monitor shares the wisdom of the Coupon Queen with our readers. Her no-nonsense approach to thrifty shopping can be found every Wednesday in Valley Life and on themonitor.com.
