Weslaco fugitive arrested at Progreso bridge

PROGRESO — U.S. customs officers arrested a man wanted on charges of sexual assault of a child Wednesday at the Progreso-Nuevo Progreso International Bridge.
Ariel Fonseca de Leon, 27, was traveling north across the bridge when an officer conducted a database check and learned that he was a fugitive wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant from the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office.
Fonseca de Leon was transferred to the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office, where he remained incarcerated.
