Harlingen and Primera police are searching for at least two people who ran from a traffic stop near a mobile home park on South Palm Court Drive.
Police spokesman Dave Osborne said one man is in custody but three others in the vehicle ran from the scene near the La Posada mobile home park.
Lt. Mario Leal said at the scene that the car might have been stolen from a residence near the sports complex on Wilson Road, where there has been a series of car thefts. Another officer said that the mother of one person for whom police are searching reported that her child was skipping and may be involved in some illegal activity.
Primera Police Chief Roberto Silva said that the pursuit prior to the traffic stop reached speeds of up to 100 mph.
