Pastor pleads guilty in child abuse case

EDINBURG — A Donna pastor pleaded guilty Friday to four counts of sexually assaulting a child.
A state district court judge sentenced Tomas Gonzales, 61, to 15 years in prison as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors.
Police originally charged Gonzales with 18 counts of sexual assault and indecency with a child after several relatives came forward alleging he had abused the boy.
Gonzales had worked as a pastor with the Templo Nueva Vida Church in Donna.
