Fox News deserves credit as news agency
To the editor:
So, Leonard Pitts Jr. thinks Fox News is not worthy of being called a news agency. Let’s look at the major news media, ABC is liberal, CBS is liberal, NBC is liberal, CNN is liberal and MSNBC is liberal. The vast majority of print media, including The Monitor is liberal. And, the vast majority of our colleges and universities are liberal.
Fox News, the way I see it, is conservative and independent, where else can we find both sides of the story instead of just the liberal side. Ask yourselves this, “How many conservatives have their own show on the liberal news stations?” None. Now, how many liberal have their own show or are a regular guest on Fox? I don’t really know how many, but there are numerous.
I watch Fox News daily, because I am tired of the same old liberal slant. On Fox, I get both sides, and I decide what to believe, not what some liberal news anchor wants me to believe. Mr. Pitts isn’t the first to complain about Fox News, but with all the liberal news that comes at us, these people just aren’t satisfied with all they have.
Mr. Pitts also mentions a 2003 study that found Fox viewers are misinformed. What I want to know is, what study? Who conducted it? And what questions were asked? We all know surveys are worthless, you can get the results you want by asking just the right questions and calling just the right people.
Ratings wise, I know Fox News is the number one news agency on cable and sometimes even beats CBS. Not bad for a lousy news agency that caters to a bunch of misinformed viewers. Fox News is growing while the rest of the liberal media is going down the tubes, including The Monitor.
