McALLEN — Police called off the search for an 86-year-old man reported missing this morning.
Officers began searching for Candelario Ontiveros, 86, about 6 a.m. Friday shortly after his family reported him missing, Lt. Joel Morales of the McAllen Police Department said.
Police, however, found him shortly before 4 p.m. Friday. Authorities did not disclose details about how they led to Ontiveros.
Onitvero’s family had last seen him in Hidalgo about 10 p.m. Thursday, police said.
Police and family were concerned for his well-being because they had no explanation as to why he went missing.
