Flights canceling as Dolly nears

McALLEN -- American Airlines and Continental Airlines have canceled most flights ahead of Hurricane Dolly.

American Airlines has canceled all its flights in and out of McAllen Miller International Airport for Wednesday, and Continental canceled all its morning flights with their afternoon schedule still to be determined, said Kristi Salinas, an official at the airport.

Low-cost carrier Allegient delayed its 1:35 p.m. flight to Orlando by six hours, Salinas said.

Hurriance Dolly is predicted to make landfall near Brownsville early Wednesday morning. Hidago County is expected to sustain at least tropical storm force winds and substantial flooding.
