Wedding: Escobar-Garza
Yvette Escobar and Jaime Garza, Jr. were united in marriage at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2011 in a military wedding at Colonial Cinco Estrellas in Pharr, TX. Judge Arnaldo Corpus (Ret.) performed the double-ring ceremony.
The bride’s parents are Carmen P. Escobar and the late Gustavo Escobar of Escobares, TX. Parents of the groom are Mr. & Mrs. Jaime Garza of Roma, TX.
The bride wore an ivory, Grecian A-symmetrical gown with a draped chiffon bodice with an illusion lace high collar and tea length tulle skirt from Sposa Mia Bridal in McAllen, TX.
The bridal bouquet consisted of long stemmed fresh roses in assorted sizes and shades of deep reds and pinks accented with baby’s breath and greenery. It was wrapped with silver satin ribbon.
Matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Maribel E. Darley of Lewisville, TX.
Maid of honor was the bride’s daughter, Jacqueline Gutierrez.
Junior bridesmaid was Daniela Darley of Lewisville, TX.
Flower girl was Jovani Luera of Roma, TX.
Best man was the groom’s son, Jaime Garza, III of San Antonio, TX.
Groomsmen were SGM Salvador Montes from Fort Bliss in El Paso, TX, and SFC Joseph Torres from Fort Bragg in North Carolina.
A reception was held at Colonial Cinco Estrellas with music by Solido.
After military deployment, the couple will reside in McAllen, TX.
The bride graduated from Roma High School and obtained a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas-Pan American in 1994. She is currently pursuing a Nursing degree at South Texas College. She is employed as an elementary school educator in PSJA.
The groom graduated from Roma High School and obtained a Bachelor’s degree from Excelsior College in Albany, NY in 2006. He obtained a Master’s of Arts in Leadership Studies from UTEP in 2010. He is currently serving as Army Forces Command Sergeant Major at the JTF-Bravo Soto Cano Air Base in Honduras.
