FALFURRIAS — The checkpoint at Falfurrias was shut down for several hours this morning after a caller claimed there was a black bag containing explosives inside the building.

U.S. Border Patrol agents shut down the building for three hours while it could be searched, Border Patrol spokesman John Lopez said. A K-9 unit from the Naval Air Station in Kingsville was called to search the building.

The Brooks County Sheriff's Office shut down the roadway until the search was completed just before 6 a.m.

No explosives were found, Lopez said.
