Raven to cook for kids tomorrow

McALLEN - Raven-Symoné can teach your child how to cook.

The 22-year-old pop phenom is slated to host two cooking demonstrations Friday at Young Chefs Academy on North 10th Street, south of Trenton Road. (Check out Festiva's interview with Raven)

"It's a demonstration where we'll show the type of recipes that she makes and then she'll take over when she comes in," said Lillian Kapilivsky of Young Chefs Academy.

Raven's appearance is before her 7 p.m. concert at Dodge Arena.

At Young Chefs, participants will get to meet and greet the Cheetah Girl and star of Disney Channel's That's So Raven!, as well as have their photo taken with her in groups of 15 or 20, Kapilivsky said.

"They're enjoying kind of like a backstage pass," she said. "You're seeing her, taking a picture and cooking at the same time."

Raven first came to fame on The Cosby Show from 1989-92, playing Denise's young stepdaughter, Olivia.
