Two brothers die in Alton crash

ALTON — Police continue to investigate a crash that left two brothers dead over the weekend.

Little information was provided about the crash, but the incident happened at 6 Mile Line and Los Ebanos Road early Sunday, said Alton Assistant Police Chief Enrique Sotelo.

Two brothers riding in the vehicle died, Sotelo said.

A local funeral home confirmed the men who died were Felipe de Jesus Gaytan Gallardo, 24, and Victor Manuel Gaytan Gallardo, 18. A woman who answered the phone at the funeral home said family members made arrangements before leaving for Mexico.

The driver of the vehicle faces charges of intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault, but has not been charged as of Sunday evening, Sotelo said.
