Truck crash leaves two dead

The Monitor

STARR COUNTY - Two men are dead after a vehicle crash early Friday morning.

Jesus Garza, 22, of La Victoria, and Eduardo Salinas, 41, also of La Victoria, were ejected from their trucks during the wreck at 12:50 a.m.

Salinas was apparently speeding when his Ford F-150 pickup smashed into the back of Garza's Ford F-250, said Johnny Hernandez, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Garza's wife and 2-year-old child were rushed to McAllen Medical Center, where they are in stable condition.

Hernandez said alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the crash.
