3 hospitalized after McAllen bar fight
McALLEN — Police are investigating a bar fight that sent three men to hospitals early Friday morning.
McAllen officers responded to Toro Lounge in the 2200 block of 23rd Street after receiving reports that a man was admitted into a hospital with multiple cuts and stab wounds, Police Chief Victor Rodriguez said.
Police later found two more victims at McAllen and Mission hospitals. All are expected to recover from the non-life threatening injuries, he said.
Investigators believe the fight broke out about 2 a.m. Friday as the bar’s staff prepared to close. Officers have yet to determine a motive for the scuffle, Rodriguez said.
The three injured men — ages 36, 38 and 46 — are not cooperating with police.
At least two of them have outstanding warrants from other law enforcement agencies, Rodriguez said. They are expected to face those charges as soon as medical personnel release them from the hospital.
It’s unclear if the men will face charges in connection with the bar fight, Rodriguez said. It all depends on their cooperation.
