Eastwood's `Gran Torino' races to $29.5M weekend

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Clint Eastwood had another million-dollar baby with "Gran Torino," which led the box office with $29.5 million in its first weekend of wide release.

The top 20 movies at U.S. and Canadian theaters Friday through Sunday, followed by distribution studio, gross, number of theater locations, average receipts per location, total gross and number of weeks in release, as compiled Monday by Media By Numbers LLC:

1. "Gran Torino," Warner Bros., $29,484,388, 2,808 locations, $10,500 average, $40,524,518, five weeks.
