MONTE ALTO — A 28-year-old man is dead after he apparently lost control of his motorcycle before sunrise on Wednesday.

Elsa resident Rogelio Fabian Rodriguez was found dead along Farm-to-Market 1015 about 7 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of FM 1422, said Trooper Johnny Hernandez, a local Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman.

Rodriguez was headed south along the two-lane roadway when he lost control of his 2008 Yamaha motorcycle.

Troopers continue to investigate why Rodriguez lost control of his bike, but it appeared that he wrecked several minutes before authorities found out about the accident, Hernandez said.

Rodriguez was found wearing a helmet when troopers arrived at the accident scene, Hernandez said.
