18-wheeler accident causes detour in Mission

MISSION -- Three people received non-life threatening injuries in a three-vehicle accident Monday afternoon. 

An 18-wheeler headed westbound on Expressway 83 was involved in an accident with two other vehicles at the Conway Avenue overpass, said Lt. Martin Garza, public information officer for the Mission Police Department.

Police are reconstructing the accident to determine what happened, Garza said.

Two people were taken to Mission Regional Medical Center, the lieutenant said. 

Traffic is being detoured to the frontage road and toward the Los Ebanos Exit.Motorists are advised to observe all posted warning, construction, detour and speed limit signs. Alternate routes are recommended to avoid delays, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.
