PHARR -- A 22-year-old McAllen man was killed early Saturday morning after he crashed his motorcycle into an SUV, according to police.
Jason Castro struck an SUV that was stopped at a red light on Sugar Road as he turned right off the Expressway 83 westbound frontage road onto Sugar Road about 2:20 a.m., said Lt. Guadalupe Salinas, a Pharr police spokesman.
There was no indication that Castro was wearing a helmet, Salinas said. When police arrived they found Castro on the pavement with his head split open. Police continue to investigate the accident to determine if speed or any other factors contributed to the accident.
There was no immediate indication that Castro or the driver of the SUV were under the influence of any substance.
